Central Texas is full of beautiful flowing rivers to enjoy. Each river has its unique style and rules. While a few rivers are open for recreation year-round, if you are looking for a great time to float the central Texas rivers you’ll want to go sometime between late march and early September. The floating season is at its peak from May to August when it’s also the hottest. Here are some of my favorite rivers to float during the scorching hot Texas summers. Many of the rivers are spring-fed and therefore stay nice and cool all year long. The perfect way to relax and cool off during your vacation.
